Wireless AP/Router Use in Theatrical Systems

Notice to IT/Sysadmin Staff

Any wireless router or access point installed with your lighting/sound system is not connected to the internet or to any facility or corporate networks. The lighting and/or sound network(s) are isolated, airgapped networks, and should not impact any operation of your facility networks and wireless. Please do not modify the networking equipment installed with your lighting/sound system.

Your KSL-installed lighting or sound system may include a wireless router or access point to allow for wireless control from phone and tablet apps.

IP Addresses

  • If you have a wireless router, you do not need to manually set an IP address on any devices, one will automatically be assigned to you.

  • If you have a wireless AP, you will need to manually set a Static IP address on any tablets or other wireless devices you wish to connect to the system. Please see About Static IP Addresses.
